Gertrude's Cranberry Salad

2 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 1/2 T. unflavored gelatin
1/2 c. cold water
4 c. raw cranberries, ground
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. nut meats, chopped

Cook sugar and water to make a thin syrup. Add gelatin which has been soaked in 1/2 c. cold water. Stir until dissolved. Cool. Add other ingredients. Pour into mold and chill.
